Thanksgiving PE Games: Turkeys On The Run

-So I’ve seen a lot of people creating these new interactive PE games for their students, and I definitely wanted to jump on the bandwagon. I’ve been on the hunt here lately for new Thanksgiving PE games and thought this would be the perfect opportunity! πŸ˜„

-I use this as a warm-up for my K-2 students who I see face to face, but it could also be used as a virtual Thanksgiving PE activity for those that are online or teaching a hybrid mix.

-If you’re looking for more Thanksgiving games or “On The Run” activities be sure to check out Thanksgiving I Spy, Elves On The Run, and Halloween Run!

How to play

-Start by bringing up the video (which can be found below) or searching for it on YouTube

-Your students are the turkeys and will be trying to escape from the turkey farm!

-Turkeys will try to avoid the obstacles as they appear in the game

-There are 3 different levels in the game

-Before starting each level, there will be a picture showing what obstacles to watch out for and how to avoid them

-The speed of the game will increase with each level

-Do your best and have fun! πŸ¦ƒ

Fun Add-ons

-At the end of level 3 there is a short Turkey dance party for escaping the turkey farm. You can keep track of the best turkey dance moves on your whiteboard and see what class celebrated the best!

-You can also encourage your students to cheer and encourage one another throughout the game. You can keep track of what class had the best teamwork when it came to avoiding the obstacles. 😎
